📌 Activity 1: From Petrochemicals to Ranches — The Diverse Landscape of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sustainability Challenges

Purpose of the Visit:
Participants will gain an understanding of the production processes and technological applications at Formosa Plastics’ Sixth Naphtha Cracker Complex, as well as its carbon-reduction measures in response to the carbon-fee system—such as carbon-capture technology and the transition to green energy.

In the ranch visit, beyond milk production and recreational tourism, participants will also learn about greenhouse gas sources unique to the agricultural and livestock industries, including methane emissions from ruminant animals and land-use-related emissions. Potential mitigation approaches—such as manure reutilization and pasture management—will also be explored.

Through this visit, participants will gain insights into greenhouse gas emissions from both industrial and agricultural perspectives and reflect on possible pathways toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

Note:
The insurance fee and charter bus transportation for this activity are subsidized by the university. Participants are responsible for their own meal expenses.

📌 Activity 2: Cultural Industries and Green Tourism Exploration Tour for AIS Students

Purpose of the Visit:
This activity aims to guide students in exploring real-world sites related to cultural industries and tourism management. Through observing the sustainable papermaking process and cultural-creative development at Guangxing Paper Mill, as well as the ecological tourism practices and customer management strategies at Cingjing Farm, students will gain an understanding of how non-traditional industries respond to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) trends.
